The OUXI Q10 is an electric longtail: a fatbike with an extended rear frame that gives you plenty of space for carrying things. Think groceries, a bag or a passenger on the back. For many people, it is a more manageable alternative to a cargo bike, with the added support of an electric motor. New in the Q10 2.0

Since the 2.0 update, the rear rack is 18 centimeters longer, with side guards that keep children's feet away from the wheel. This means it can accommodate two child seats. The Q10 also received a new display that connects to an app, an integrated ring lock, a reinforced double kickstand that remains stable even when loaded and a bottle holder in a more convenient location.

Extended frame and step-through design

The Q10's rear frame is longer than that of a regular fatbike, and that is exactly the idea. There is room for luggage or a passenger at the back, while you sit upright and comfortably. The low step-through design makes getting on and off easier, even when you have something on the back. The aluminum frame keeps the bike strong while remaining manageable. Keep in mind that a longer bike requires a little more space to turn and park than a compact model. You will notice the difference in a small shed or narrow hallway.

Carrying luggage and a passenger

The load capacity is up to 150 kilograms, so you can load the Q10 quite heavily. The bike comes with a cargo basket for items you want to take along quickly, from groceries to a backpack. Since the 2.0 update, the rear rack is 18 centimeters longer and fitted with side guards, allowing it to accommodate two child seats: the Q10 is rated for three people. Useful if you take children to school or regularly carry extra cargo. Keep in mind that a fully loaded bike is heavier to steer and takes longer to slow down. Smooth acceleration and braking in good time become more important than when riding an empty bike.

Range and battery

The Q10 runs on a 48V battery with 15Ah. How far you get depends greatly on how much you carry, your riding style, the wind, and the terrain. With a passenger or a heavy load, it uses more energy than on a solo ride, so we do not give a fixed number of kilometres but a range. Charging takes about three hours. For your daily trips to school, work, and the shops, you simply recharge every few days, depending on how heavily you use it. A day with a heavy load simply requires plugging it in a little more often than a quiet day without luggage.

Motor, speed, and the rules

The rear wheel has a brushless 250W motor that provides smooth assistance up to 25 km/h. You pedal along yourself and there is no throttle, so the Q10 counts as a regular electric bike. That means no driving licence, registration plate, or helmet requirement. The limited, predictable assistance is especially comfortable when carrying a load. We advise against increasing the bike's speed: you would fall outside the legal category, and the brakes and frame are not designed for it, especially with weight on the rear, and your warranty would be void. With children or luggage on the rear, you want a bike that does exactly what you expect.

Tyres, brakes, and riding feel

The 20-inch fatbike tyres provide grip and stability, which is useful when you want to keep a loaded bike upright. There is suspension at the front and rear, which absorbs some of the vibrations on a gravel path or paving stones. Braking is handled by hydraulic disc brakes, which also provide controlled braking with weight on the rear. Shifting is done with seven gears. The ride feels calm and stable, although the bike is less manoeuvrable than a short fatbike due to its length and weight. In busy traffic, steer a little more carefully. Take it easy on your first rides, especially with someone on the back, and you will quickly get the hang of steering it.
