Is the V20 legal?
Yes. The V20 only assists you if you pedal yourself and stops at 25 km/h, with a 250W motor and no throttle. That makes it just an electric bike, not a moped. So you are allowed to ride it anywhere you can ride a regular bike.
How fast does the V20 go, and am I allowed to increase its speed?
The V20 supports speeds up to 25 km/h. Faster is not allowed: once you modify a fatbike to go faster, it is legally considered a moped. You are then required to have insurance, a license plate, and a helmet, and your warranty becomes void. With our bikes, you ride safely within the rules.
Do I need a driver's license, insurance, or registration for the V20?
No. Because the V20 supports speeds up to 25 km/h, it counts as a regular bike. No driver's license, no license plate, no mandatory insurance. A bike insurance against theft or damage is smart, but that’s up to you.
From what age are you allowed to ride the V20?
In the UK you must be 14 or over to ride an electric bike (EAPC) like this one on public roads (gov.uk). A helmet is not compulsory for EAPC riders, but it is recommended.
How far can you go with the V20 on a single battery charge?
With the V20, you can ride approximately 45 to 75 km on a full battery. The exact distance depends on your speed, your weight, how much assistance you use, and the wind.
What warranty do I get on the V20?

The bike has seven Shimano gears. Handy when accelerating after a traffic light or riding uphill over a bridge. The front fork is suspended to absorb the worst jolts from speed bumps and curbs. The front and rear lights are built in. There’s no throttle, and that’s by design.

How much does the V20 Pro weigh, and who is it suitable for?

34 kilograms. You’ll really notice the weight when carrying it up stairs or maneuvering it into a crowded bike shed, so check where you’ll keep it beforehand. The maximum load is 150 kilograms. You can take someone along with a rear seat, sold separately. According to the specifications, the bike suits riders between 150 and 195 cm tall. The frame has a high step-over, so you’ll need to swing your leg over the saddle. Prefer a low step-through, for example when carrying bags or with a stiff hip? Then the V20 Comfort Pro with its low step-through is a better fit.

How far can you ride the V20 Pro fatbike?

You can ride about 75 kilometers on the lowest assist level, around 60 on the middle setting, and around 45 on the highest. Treat these as estimates. Headwinds, cold weather, your own weight, and frequent acceleration all reduce your range. A depleted battery takes 4 to 6 hours to fully recharge. Do you ride to work or school every day and can’t charge there? Plan around the middle estimate to avoid surprises.

Legal to ride on bike paths

The motor is 250 watts, only assists while you pedal, and cuts out at 25 km/h. This means the V20 Pro is a regular electric bike in the Netherlands. You don’t need a license, license plate, or insurance, and a helmet isn’t mandatory. Don’t modify it to go faster. That would mean it’s no longer legally considered a bicycle, and moped regulations would apply.
