Is the BCN legal?
Yes. The BCN only assists you if you pedal yourself and stop at 25 km/h, with a 250W motor and no throttle. This makes it just an electric bike, not a moped. So you are allowed to ride it anywhere you can ride a regular bike.
How fast does the BCN go, and am I allowed to increase its speed?
The BCN supports speeds up to 25 km/h. Faster is not allowed: as soon as you modify a fatbike to go faster, it is legally considered a moped. You are then required to have insurance, a license plate, and a helmet, and your warranty becomes void. With our bikes, you ride safely within the rules.
Do I need a driver's license, insurance, or registration for the BCN?
No. Because the BCN supports up to 25 km/h, it counts as a regular bike. No driver's license, no license plate, no mandatory insurance. A bike insurance against theft or damage is smart, but that’s up to you.
From what age are you allowed to ride the BCN?
There is no legal minimum age for an electric bike like the BCN in the Netherlands. Anyone can ride it, and a helmet is not mandatory.
How far can you go with the BCN on a single battery charge?
With the BCN, you can ride about 80 km on a full battery. The exact distance depends on your speed, your weight, how much assistance you use, and the wind.
What warranty do I get on the BCN?
You get a 3-year warranty on the frame and 1 year on the moving parts. If something breaks during that period due to a manufacturing defect, we will take care of it for you.

Those who often ride at the highest setting or accelerate frequently will get less distance. The battery recharges in about four to six hours, so you can top it up between rides.

The hydraulic disc brakes grip firmly with little force and remain reliable even in the rain.
