With 7 gears, you can easily shift on hills or against the wind, even with the smaller wheels. There is no throttle to ride without pedaling, so the D11 counts as a regular electric bike: no license, registration, or helmet required. We advise against tuning it up, as that would put you outside the legal category, void your warranty, and the bike isn’t built for that.

Tires, brakes, and riding feel

The 20-inch CST tires (20x1.75) let you roll smoothly and stay stable on the road. The hydraulic disc brakes bring you to a quick and controlled stop, even in the rain, and front and rear LED lights keep you visible in the dark. Small wheels steer a bit more directly than large ones, which you get used to quickly, and that’s actually handy in heavy traffic. For a folding bike, the D11 rides calmly and confidently, which is nice in city traffic where you often have to brake and accelerate again. On longer stretches, you feel the road surface a bit more than on large wheels.

The D11 suits commuters who combine cycling with train, car, or limited storage space and still want to ride smoothly.
