There is no throttle to ride without pedaling, so the C21 counts as a regular electric bike: no license, registration, or helmet required. We advise against tuning it up, as you will lose the legal category and your warranty, and the lightweight frame is not designed for it.

Tires, brakes, and riding feel

The narrow tires roll lightly and smoothly, pleasant on asphalt and light gravel paths. The hydraulic TEKTRO disc brakes allow you to brake quickly and controlled, even in the rain. The headlight and taillight keep you visible in the dark. Due to the low weight and narrow tires, the C21 feels nimble and responsive, more like a sporty bike than a heavy city bike. It doesn’t have much suspension, so on rough roads you feel more of the surface than on a bike with suspension. On smooth asphalt, that’s actually an advantage.

The C21 suits those who want a light, nimble e-bike that hardly looks like an e-bike and easily handles inclines. Great if you have little space or like to ride sportily. To be honest: due to the small battery, the range is modest, and because of the narrow tires and limited suspension, this is not a bike for rough terrain or heavy loads. If you want a lot of range, comfort, or suspension, another model will suit you better. If it’s about lightness and sportiness, the C21 is a strong choice.
