FAQ
WhatsApp usIs the Cooper legal?
Yes. The Cooper only assists you when you pedal yourself and stops at 25 km/h, with a 250W motor and no throttle. This makes it just an electric bike, not a moped. So you are allowed to ride it anywhere you can ride a regular bike.
How fast does the Cooper go, and am I allowed to increase its speed?
The Cooper supports speeds up to 25 km/h. Faster is not allowed: as soon as you tune a fatbike, it legally counts as a moped. You are then required to have insurance, a license plate, and a helmet, and your warranty becomes void. With our bikes, you ride safely within the rules.
Do I need a driver's license, insurance, or registration for the Cooper?
No. Because the Cooper supports up to 25 km/h, it counts as a regular bike. No driver's license, no license plate, no mandatory insurance. A bike insurance against theft or damage is smart, but that’s up to you.
From what age are you allowed to ride the Cooper?
There is no legal minimum age for an electric bike like the Cooper in the Netherlands. Anyone can ride it, and wearing a helmet is not mandatory.
How far can you go with the Cooper on a single battery charge?
With the Cooper, you can ride approximately 70 to 125 km on a full battery. The exact distance depends on your speed, your weight, how much assistance you use, and the wind.
What warranty do I get on the Cooper?
You get a 3-year warranty on the frame and 1 year on the moving parts. If something breaks during that period due to a manufacturing defect, we will take care of it for you.
