Is the Cavet Air legal?
Yes. The Cavet Air only assists you if you pedal yourself and stops at 25 km/h, with a 250W motor and no throttle. This makes it just an electric bike, not a moped. So you are allowed to ride it anywhere you can ride a regular bike.
How fast does the Cavet Air go, and am I allowed to increase its speed?
The Cavet Air supports speeds up to 25 km/h. Faster is not allowed: once you modify a fatbike to go faster, it is legally considered a moped. You are then required to have insurance, a license plate, and a helmet, and your warranty becomes void. With our bikes, you ride safely within the rules.
Do I need a driver's license, insurance, or registration for the Cavet Air?
No. Because the Cavet Air supports speeds up to 25 km/h, it counts as a regular bike. No driver's license, no license plate, no mandatory insurance. A bike insurance against theft or damage is smart, but that is up to you.
From what age are you allowed to ride the Cavet Air?
There is no legal minimum age for an electric bike like the Cavet Air in the Netherlands. Anyone is allowed to ride it, and a helmet is not mandatory.
How far can you go with the Cavet Air on a single battery charge?
With the Cavet Air, you can ride about 100 km on a full battery. The exact distance depends on your speed, your weight, how much assistance you use, and the wind.
What warranty do I get on the Cavet Air?
You get a 3-year warranty on the frame and 1 year on the moving parts. If something breaks during that period due to a manufacturing defect, we will take care of it for you.

A-Spadz Cavet Air Blue at GOfatbike

The A-Spadz Cavet Air in blue is an electric fatbike with a cafe racer look and thick 20-inch tires. The blue version gives the bike a calm, recognizable style, and the low seating with the long saddle makes it comfortable. There is room for a passenger, and the motor assists as soon as you pedal. Below you can read what the blue Cavet Air excels at and what to consider before choosing.

Entry and seating position

Mounting is easy thanks to the low step-through and upright posture. Your feet reach close to the ground, which gives confidence when starting and stopping. A second person can ride on the long saddle of the blue Cavet Air, as long as the total weight stays under 180 kg. If you’re looking for a sporty, forward-leaning bike, this is not the model. This one focuses on comfort and a relaxed posture.

Range and battery

The 48V 15.6Ah battery is neatly integrated into the frame. The range is ample, but what you get out of it varies per ride, depending on weight, wind, assistance level, and how often you accelerate. So allow for a margin. On a lower setting and with gentle riding, you’ll go further. Charge in time, and you rarely have to worry about an empty battery on the road.

Motor, speed, and regulations

Under the blue Cavet Air is a 250W motor with 55Nm torque. Assistance runs up to 25 km/h, and you must always pedal yourself; there is no throttle. This means the bike counts as a regular electric bike, with no license, registration, or helmet requirement. The torque gets you moving quickly, even with luggage or a passenger. Tuning is not recommended: you then leave the legal category and your warranty becomes void.

Tires, brakes, and riding feel

The wide 20-inch fat tires provide grip and stability, whether you're riding on asphalt or a softer path. The front suspension absorbs the biggest shocks. You brake with hydraulic disc brakes that remain reliable even when wet. The TFT display keeps you informed about speed and battery level. Keep in mind that a fatbike is heavier: lifting or carrying it takes effort. For short rides around the neighborhood or to work, this doesn't matter much, but keep it in mind if you often have to carry it up stairs.

Who is this fatbike for

The blue Cavet Air is for those who want to sit comfortably and low, and occasionally carry someone on the back. It's perfect for the ride to work, the store, or a leisure ride. The cafe racer style in blue gives it a unique accent. It's less practical if you're looking for something light for the train or bus. This is a sturdier model for the road.

Ordering at GOfatbike
